Political Education of the Public

Post by omid »

I am often concerned with the level of political education, and political engagement, of a populace in a democracy.
Watching the slow-moving disaster of Trump in the US, and the potential mess of Brexit in the UK, underscore its exigence.
How are we to ensure a high level of socio-political knowledge and engagement in the public? Democracy fails without it!

I very much enjoy the BBC's takes on educational entertainment. While that did not affect Brexit so much, blame for the latter could instead be directed at the tabloids (C.F. Fox and Trump), and the dysfunction of referenda. (We Iranians certainly know about the latter!)
